Like many people here I'm sure Alterna has become my main source of buying new comics. I also have backed a few comic campaigns on igg I like that it's a way for Indie creators to get there stories told and put out books that are actually worth reading. That being said I have no problem with paying 20-25 bucks for a book that looks great and is most likely a yearly event but I have to admit some of the shipping prices make me hesitant to back more projects. $15 for shipping on top of a $25 book seems a little far reaching to me. If the project you back comes with extra stuff like multiple books or posters and other stuff like that I could see that price making since. But for only a single book is it really warranted? One of the most recent campaigns I backed was the Alterna reprint and the shipping there was more than reasonable and that was for a stack of comics. All that being said I'm sure there are many reasons why things work the way they do that I'm not aware of and I'll continue to back projects I'm excited about it's just one thing that keeps me from backing multiple campaigns at a time. Im curious what everyone else thinks.
I don’t have much insight yet but we are still trying figure out the cheapest solution with tracking and stuff. Shipping shouldn’t be killing the backers!
